TDC-ES1P-1956-01

This is a conventional die clash found on a 1956, 1 Peseta minted in Spain. What sets this denominational series apart is that conventional clashes and tilted die clashes (similar to what are found on the 1960D small date Lincoln cent) are both found.

While the obverse shows a date of 1953, which is when this series began, the reverse shows a date of 1956 (set in the stars).

The picture to the left shows the clash marks from the shield on the reverse which were transferred to the obverse.

Part of the upper shield can be seen clashed into the field below the bust.

The base of the bust can be seen clashed into the space between the ribbon and the top of the shield.

The back of Caudillo can be seen clashed into the field which is indicated by white arrows.

This clash event can be recognized by the doubled die obverse (Class II), the die crack through the I of FRANSISCO to the rim and the die crack through the 9 digit of the date to the rim.
