To the left is a typical clashed dies tilted slightly toward the bottom of the obverse. Clash marks are seen as memorial bays and the roof in front of and behind Lincoln.

The reverse shows Lincoln’s head and neck along with a fragment of the 9 in the date. Light blue arrows show the clash event; black arrows show die markers.
