What it is so interesting about this clashed dies is the way it was polished over. It would seem each direction the Mint employee went while file the surface of the die, left marks in particular areas whereas subsequent polishing went into other areas leaving bays going one way and the memorial building going another. The result is that the clash marks are still easily visible and almost look fake when photographed.
