This 1999 Lincoln cent shows a MAD die clash protruding from the front coat line, just below Lincoln’s bow tie.

The overlay shows the relative position of the dies when they clashed.

This coin is part of Bob Piazza’s personal collection.

 

The two pictures to the left give a close up view of the clash mark left by the reverse die on the obverse and the position of the reverse die when it clashed with the obverse die.
