MDC-1c-1998-02
This MAD die clash is found on a 1998P Lincoln cent obverse die. The clash marks consist of the die’s edge and the tops of two letters; the E and R of AMERICA.
The second picture, an overlay of the two dies, shows the relative position of the reverse die when it clashed with the obverse die. Notice that there is also an approximate 15° tilt to one of the dies when it clashed.
With the use of overlays, we can see how the RE (inverted and flipped horizontally) match with the die clash marks left on the obverse die.
This die was found by Bob Piazza.
