CCL(TI)-50c-1983-01
This is a sharply struck counter die clash (Type I) that shows at least three sets of clash marks. The 1983 Kennedy half dollar, which the clash occurred on, shows no signs of abrasion to remove the damage from the meeting of the dies. Since one of the clashes had an offset of direction from the other two, this resulted in a very clear counter clash of the eagle’s left wing
There are three clashes, two in very close proximity of each other and the third offset from the other two. The two clashes in close proximity to each other. may have been caused by die chatter (similar to machine doubling).
The rays, the top of the banner and some parts of the stars are clashed under Kennedy’s chin.
The same rays, some parts of the stars and a portion of the eagle’s left wing can be seen clashed in the picture below.
The very strong clash mark left by the eagle’s left wing.
The clash mark left by the bundle of arrows.
The clash marks left by the back of Kennedy’s head.
The strong counter clash left by the right wing of the eagle.
