CCL(TI)-1c-1993-01
This 1993P Lincoln cent underwent two clash events that were slightly offset from each other. This resulted in a counter clash (TI) being formed. The overlays show the relative position of the dies when they did clash.
This counter clash is part of Joe Koelling’s collection.
The image below shows the two clash events and the slight shift that occurred. Also note the doubling of the line that is formed by Lincoln’s forehead; this is the counter clash that was transferred from the reverse die, back onto the obverse die.
Again we see the shift that occurred between the two clash events.
Close examination of the clash marks shows that one of the clash events may have had some chatter in the strike.
