CCL(TI)-1c-1988-01
This 1988P Lincoln cent has dual, obverse and reverse die clashes, that have converted to form a type I counter clash. While there is some die abrasion on both surfaces of the coin, this appears to have happened before the clashing of the dies occurred.
The clash mark in the nape of Lincoln’s neck is from the second clashing of the dies and shows the line from column 4 and with it the first clash mark that was left by the nape of Lincoln’s neck.
These pictures show the location of the two sets of clash marks on the reverse die.
The two pictures below show the relative position of the dies to each other when the clashing occurred.
