This is an atypical die clash event found on a 1983-P Jefferson nickel. This coin is in the collection of Kevin Mader.
Part of the F from the word FIVE can be seen clashed into the field by Jefferson’s forehead. The bottom left base of the building is seen clashed into the field to the left of the R in LIBERTY.
Jefferson’s lapel is seen clashed into the field to the left of the dome while his queue is clashed into the field to the right of the dome.
The front portion of Jefferson’s head can be seen clashed into the field from the base of the building and through the FI of FIVE. The back of Jefferson’s head can be seen clashed into the field to the right of the last O in MONTICELLO.
