ADC-50c-1983-02

This 1983-P half dollar shows a strong misaligned die clash to the left of Kennedy’s face.  The obverse die might have been tilted slightly since no clash marks are evident to the right of his bust.  Clash marks are present and symmetrical on the reverse, but much weaker.  They may have been abraded.

The obverse die was misaligned toward the right when the coin was struck, but the obverse die was even more misaligned toward the right when the clash occurred.

The back of Kennedy’s head shows modest slide doubling (machine doubling sub-type) produced when the obverse die slid toward the left after impact.
