Below is an atypical clashed die example on a 1998 D Washington Quarter. There are unabraded clash marks of the perimeter of the eagle’s wings in front of Washington’s face, neck and back of head. Within the eagle’s wings on the reverse is much of Washington’s portrait.

The position of the clash marks on this coin should serve as die markers for this coin.
