ADC-1c-2017P-02
Below is the 2nd listed example of an atypical die clash found on a 2017P Lincoln Shield Cent. Like other atypical LSC examples we see parts of UNU and the P from E PLURIBUS UNUM as well as some shield details visible within the fields. On the reverse there are light trails emanating north from the incuse details of E PLURIBUS UNUM into the upper shield.
There are a few degrees of rotation between the dies when they clashed. Take care when attributing, try and match clash marks with landmarks such as the exact location of the shield stripe and Lincoln’s nose which will almost always differ from another clashed die pair.
