This 1984P Lincoln cent barely makes it into the Atypical Die Clash category. However, because it does have three separate clash events that are staggered, it is qualified.

 

The three overlays provided show the relative position of the dies when they did clash.

Evidence of the three clash events are more readily seen on the left side of the reverse. Three clash marks left by the back line of Lincoln’s coat can be seen in bays 2 and 3. The Y from LIBERTY is clashed into bay 2 and is the result of the strongest clash event.
