This is another 1960D(SD) Lincoln cent that has three separate clash events on the same coin.

2 3 4 5 / 1 2 5

The first clash event seen shows the familiar clash marks under Lincoln’s bust left by the tops of the letters in the word STATES. The clash mark from the bottom of the D in UNITED was produced by the field and the back of Lincoln.  The overlay shows the approximate position of the dies when they did clash.

The second clash event shows a clash mark through the D mintmark. This was formed by the field and the bottom of the letters AME of AMERICA. The reciprocal clash mark on the reverse die was successfully abraded of that die.

The third clash event is seen as a line from Lincoln’s left front lapel to the lower portion of the 1 digit in the date. Again the reciprocal die clash was abraded from the reverse die.

The die chip in the letter R of LIBERTY and the heavy die scratching seen on both the obverse and reverse dies will help to identify these clash events.
