ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-96
This 1960D(SD) Lincoln cent has multiple clash events that occurred over a period of time.
The first event seen is a clash mark in the form of a line through the D mintmark. This line was formed by the base of the letters AME of AMERICA. The reciprocal clash mark on the reverse has been abraded off that die. The overlay provided shows the approximate position of the dies when they did clash.
The second clash event left a clash mark through the NE of ONE and the CE of CENT. The obverse clash marks for this event have been abraded off the obverse die. The overlay shows the relative positions of the dies when they did meet.
The last clash event left rather strong clash marks on both the obverse and reverse dies. The overlay shows the approximate position of the dies when they did clash.
Identifying die chips can be found on both dies; the R in LIBERTY has a die chip along with a die crack in the upper right corner of the E in the same word. The E in ONE and the C in CENT also have die chips.
