ADC-1c-1960D-79(SD): 2 events
This 1960D small date Lincoln cent reverse die shows three clash events. The obverse die shows no sign of these events and may have been changed out for a new die after one of the clash events occurred.
The first two images above show one of the events, with the bottom line and the lower left corner of the bust seen passing through the word STATES and under the D of UNITED.
The other event shows as a slanted line protruding from the Memorial building roof. This line is generated by the lapel on Lincoln’s coat.
Though not unusual on most Lincoln cents that have a clashing of the dies, the clash mark generated by Lincoln’s jaw line is seen in the upper part of bay 8 and is more than like part of the clash event that formed the slanted line from the roof.
Identifying anomalies for these clash events can be seen as a die crack from the C to the E of CENT and a long die scratch between those two letters.
Also seen is a large die chip on the right edge of the cornice and upper part of column 12.
The obverse does have a yet to be identified RPM.
