ADC-1c-1960D-67(SD)
This small date 1960D Lincoln cent shows at least two separate clash events.
The stronger of the two clash events has left the partial letters from ONE (NE and CENT (C) clashed above Lincoln’s head.
The reverse die shows a strong clash line from the top of Lincoln’s head, through the NE CE.
The overlay above shows the relative position of the dies when they did clash.
Another clash event left part of the Memorial building roof clashed into the area just to the left of the date. Also seen is part of a bay clashed into the area below Lincoln’s chin.
These clash events can be recognized by the die crack that joins the CEN of CENT and the die chip in the left arm of the T in CENT.
