This small date 1960D Lincoln cent shows four unrelated clash events.
One event shows the roof line clashed into the obverse die between the 1 digit of the date and Lincoln’s jacket.
Another clash event shows the E of UNITED and the vertical line from the roof to the cornice, with part of the cornice clashed below the letter T in LIBERTY.
The overlay provided shows the relative position of the dies when they did clash.
The picture below shows the bottom bust line as it passes through the word STATES. Overlays show that this clash mark is unrelated to the clash event that left the E in UNITED.
Another clash event occurred that left the line from top of Lincoln’s head clashed through the NE of ONE.
These clash events can be recognized by the die scratches from the bottom of the T and the top of the Y in LIBERTY.
