ADC-1c-1960D-59(SD)
This 1960D small date Lincoln cent shows dual clash marks from possible four different clash events.
Two clash events left dual clash marks from the roof of the Memorial building on the obverse die in the field between Lincoln’s jacket and the 1 digit of the date.
The next set of dual clash marks can be seen from the bottom of the E in UNITED down into bay 3. The close proximity of the clash marks may have been caused by die chatter or could have occurred from two different events. These clash marks are not related to the clash marks seen on the obverse.
The last clash mark seen is the line through the word STATES, which could be related to the clash marks that are seen from the bottom of the E. This clash mark was left by the bottom of Lincoln’s bust.
These clash events can be recognized by the strong die scratch seen from the N to the E of ONE.
