ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-39
This 1960D small date Lincoln cent shows an obverse die clash left by the N of ONE and the C of CENT clashed over Lincoln’s head.
Oddly enough, there is no corresponding die clash through the words ONE CENT on the reverse, nor is there any indication of abrasions normally seen to remove such die clashes.
This would indicate that the reverse die was not the die in use when the die clash event occurred. See the article on the 1960D small date Lincoln cent here.
The overlay provide shows the relative lactation of the dies when they did clash.
