This is an unusual tilted die clash since it shows a rotation in the clash event between the dies. However, the strike does not show this 9° rotation.
The overlay provided shows the rotation and the relative position of the dies when they did clash.
The clash marks under Lincoln’s bust show the partial letters from STAT of STATES.
The picture to the left shows the clash mark left by the bottom of Lincoln’s bust through the word STATES.
This die can be identified by the minor RPM found on the split lower serif of the mint mark.
Another identifying mark is a die scratch that can be seen from the O of ONE to the N of the same word.
